This Privacy Policy explains how slowave Inc. ("slowave," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use Slowave ON.
Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, and your Google or Apple sign-in link if you use those options
- Profile information: nickname, date of birth, sex, sleep schedule, and other onboarding responses
- Sleep Diary entries you record in the app
- EEG, PPG, and 3-axis accelerometer data collected through your paired device, which we analyze to generate your Daily Insights and Sleep Patterns
- Morning check-ins, Journey progress, and mission completion history
- Device pairing information and consent records
- Crash reports, diagnostics and a push notification token for your device
How We Use Your Information To provide and improve the Service: generate your sleep insights and reports, personalize your Journey, maintain your account, respond to support requests, and meet our legal obligations. We also build de-identified data, for example sleep measurement patterns together with the age we calculate from your date of birth and your sex, with anything that could identify you removed, to improve the accuracy of our sleep-analysis algorithms.
How We Share Your Information We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We use the following service providers, which process data only on our behalf to run Slowave ON:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) stores and processes your data. We keep your data in the AWS region for the country you select when you create your account. Slowave ON is currently available only in the United States, so your data is stored in a U.S.-based AWS region.
- OpenAI helps write the plain-language explanations in your Daily Insights. We send it only the sleep and heart measurements we calculated for that night (for example, sleep time, sleep stages and heart rate) and your age. We don't send your name, email address, account ID or the raw EEG, PPG or accelerometer signals.
- Google Firebase sends push notifications, using a notification token for your device, and collects crash reports and diagnostics (for example, device model, OS version and app version) so we can fix problems.
We don't share your personal information with any other third party.
Data Retention We keep your personal data, including the EEG, PPG, and accelerometer data collected through your paired device, and the Daily Insights and Sleep Patterns we generate from it, only for as long as your account is active or as reasonably necessary to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete this data, including the raw EEG, PPG, and accelerometer data, as described in our account deletion flow; backup copies are removed within a limited period afterward, as part of our regular backup cycle. We may keep certain information longer where required by law.
Separately, we build de-identified data from sleep measurements together with the age we calculate from your date of birth and your sex, with anything that could identify you removed, to improve our sleep-analysis algorithms. This de-identified data can't reasonably be linked back to you, so deleting your account doesn't delete it, and we commit not to try to re-identify it.
Your Privacy Rights Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, download, correct, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent. See Download My Data, Delete My Data, Your California Privacy Rights, Consumer Health Data Notice, and Manage Consent.
Children's Privacy Slowave ON is intended for users 18 and older and is not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Security We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption, to protect your information.
Changes to This Policy We'll notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
